Access to Quality Education - Unlocking Futures Through Learning

At Shinners Care Center, we believe education is more than a right — it is the foundation of lasting change. In regions where poverty, illness, and instability have interrupted childhoods, access to education becomes the key that unlocks opportunity, dignity, and a path forward.

Our education programs target underserved communities in Kisumu and its surrounding areas, focusing on vulnerable children and youth who might otherwise be left behind. These include orphans, children from child-headed households, and those living in informal settlements or extreme poverty.

What We Do

Early Childhood Education - We provide foundational learning through daycare and pre-primary programs that nurture emotional, social, and intellectual development in a safe, loving environment.

Primary & Secondary School Support - Through sponsorships, we help cover school fees, uniforms, learning materials, and exam registration for children who would otherwise not afford an education.

After-School & Life Skills Programs - We run mentorship clubs and after-school sessions to strengthen literacy, numeracy, digital literacy, and essential life skills.

Infrastructure Development - We are currently working to build a fully equipped community daycare and learning center to serve as a safe and consistent place of learning for our youngest learners.

Why It Matters

In communities where HIV/AIDS, poverty, and displacement have upended normalcy, education is not only a path out — it is a shield against exploitation, a lifeline of hope, and a force for generational change.

Our goal is not just to send children to school, but to see them thrive. Every child we support is a seed planted for a stronger, more resilient tomorrow.
