Good health is not a luxury — it is a basic right. At Shinners Care Center, we work to ensure that every child, youth, and family we serve can access the health, hygiene, and wellness resources they need to survive and thrive.
In vulnerable communities where illness, undernourishment, and poor sanitation claim countless lives, we step in with practical, compassionate solutions — grounded in dignity and delivered with care.
Nutrition & Hot Meals - We provide warm, nutritious meals to children and families, especially in underserved areas and during school programs. For many, this may be their only meal of the day — a vital lifeline that supports both body and mind.
Basic Healthcare Acces - We connect vulnerable individuals with essential health services, medicine, screenings, and referrals, especially for HIV/AIDS-affected families, orphans, and children in informal settlements.
Hygiene, Sanitation & Menstrual Health - Through hygiene education, distribution of sanitary supplies, and WASH (Water, Sanitation & Hygiene) efforts, we promote safe practices that prevent illness and restore dignity — especially for girls and women.
Mental & Emotional Wellness - We recognize that trauma and stress often accompany poverty and abandonment. Through mentorship, safe spaces, and counseling support (where available), we help children and youth process their challenges and build resilience.
Health is the foundation for everything else — a child cannot learn if they’re hungry, a young person cannot dream if they are unwell, and a caregiver cannot work if they are battling illness.
By securing basic health outcomes, we give families the strength to stand, learn, build, and hope again. This is where recovery begins and the cycle of suffering starts to break.
